This diptych captures the spiritual and cultural significance of a traditional procession, highlighting the endurance of faith and heritage across generations. The black-and-white image evokes a sense of history, memory, and solemnity, while the color image brings forward the vibrancy and presence of the tradition today. The contrast between the two emphasizes the timeless nature of devotion, movement, and collective identity. Inspired by the resilience of cultural expression, this piece reflects how tradition is both preserved and continuously lived, echoing through time.

This diptych serves as a homage to my Hispanic heritage, with a specific focus on the profound influence of Our Lady of Guadalupe within the community. I was struck by the depth of devotion present among the Mexican community during the Parade to honor her. The reverence and love displayed for Our Lady was expressed through vibrant colors, spirited dancing, and the graceful movements of the participants. Through this image, I sought to capture and honor the essence of that day, acknowledging the significance of cultural traditions and spiritual connection within the Hispanic community. In addition, the inclusion of a black and white image serves to underscore the enduring essence of the day, highlighting that even in the absence of color, the love and devotion expressed during the parade.
